For patients that undergo high technology radiotherapy or robotic radiosurgery we offer to increase treatment quality and decrease damages in healthy tissue after treatment.
There are two types of implantation offered:
- Gold anchor marker implantation
Small gold seeds or anchors can be implanted in almost any organ such as prostate, liver, pancreas, kidney, lung, cervix and other gynecologic organs and others. Marker helps to visualize tumor location better under CT and MRI and helps to track organ during treatment procedure. Exact tracking helps doctors and physicists to position patient in exact pasition and change treatment beam angles depending on movement of organs. This ensures that target volume (tumor) is reached and less healthy tissue that surround tumor is damaged. After treatment markers are not removed and stays within patient organ. Implantation procedure is minimaly invasive and can be performed with local anestesya. Learn more about Gold anchor markers by visiting

SpaceOAR hydrogel is an option for men who undergo radiation treatment for prostate cancer. It acts as a spacer providing space between the rectum and the prostate, making it much less likely that the rectum is exposed to radiation. It is injected into place prior to the start of radiation treatment. Patients may be awake or asleep under general anesthesia for the procedure. SpaceOAR hydrogel is minimally invasive, remains stable during radiation therapy and then is gradually absorbed by the body after radiation therapy has been completed.
